study law-rule no. 1: nerd are your future boss

Last sem when I was in my contract 8.00a.m class, and as usual I was about to fell asleep listening to those case case case infront.

Then suddenly my contract lecturer, mr. Hafiz ask me stand up and ask me a (silly) question: " The boy over there, yes, you, you, that one, yes, with red shirt one........... How would you establish your sentence in the contract when a party wants to give another party an orange."

I was ofcourse in my energy saving mode on that time and after tens of second of silence I say :" I there by give you an orange."

Mr Hafiz then say: " no, no, no, think! boy, THINK! THINK! LIKE A LAWYER! Come on, give me a lawyer answer!"

BUT ALL OF A SUDDEN, the girl sit on my right then burst out :" I hereby give and convey to you all and singular, my estate and interests, rights, claim, title, calim and advanteges of and in, said orange, together with all its rind, juice, pulp, and seeds, and all rights, and advantages with full power to bite, cut, freeze and otherwise eat, the same, or give the same away with and without the pulp, juice, rind and seeds, anything herein before or hereinafter or in any deed, or deeds, instruments of whatever nature or kind whatsoever to the contrary in anywise notwithstanding..."

I drop my jaw and knowing really well that nerds are your future boss.

New life, I am still who I am

Hands shivering, hitting wrong keys, cursing the air-cond and surely! Studying~~
Yup, its my Uni library and its in winter mode now, the only mode.

There have been a number of times where I click into this blog and hope for a new post. I'm pretty sure you people understand how I felt when it is the same old post.

Time flies, ya, they do. The moment where you can find me in a library is when exam is coming, or, when I'm still a librarian. Definitely, for now, final exam is coming. Without realising anything, our 1st sem of Uni is coming to an end soon, just the matter of days. Is anyone as surprised as I do?
From the 1st day where we say bye bye to each other and wishing words were coming in tons, we somehow, knew we will miss each other MADLY. But at the same time, there's so many things new to us, that we need to be familiar of. People, books, building, environment, lecturer, etc etc. We just got little time left to miss each other but I guess none of us gave the chance up, whether you are in a bus or gents/ladies, or, tucking in to bed, you start missing people(I start missing people)

The 1st sem is surely tougher than anything else, I cant even remember names in the 1st week. 'Hi' has became everyone's name. But, as time goes, things start to get worked out, in a pleasant way or for some people, not such a good memory.
Everything is brand new, almost. Just gonna do it, its either die tonight or another day, I choose die another day. Laundry did troubled me for awhile, washing it manually is hell, so, i made a new friend, washing machine. Woah! I sincerely doubt, can anyone not love a washing machine? Just put in RM2.00 coins and after 1 hour, you got all shirts and pants clean and half-dried. Its just perfect! That WAS a problem.

Then, it comes to school and people. Something that you can only pray for the best, you never know who you gonna meet. Angel or devil; heaven or hell. I guess I'm the lucky one, excluding the 2 hours bus trip everyday. Everything has been nice and easy for a new comer. And, made a few friends. Probably the 1st listed thing in your to-do-list when you enter Uni. But, there are still people that you are not so comfortable with, just ignore them, someone told me,and I followed. Life is better when you look at the bright side.

Then, it comes to study. There are new and old things. Resultant force. Yea, something that everyone can still recall. I was happy that we are learning that, but that's just the 1st chapter, things get twisted and heated up when you look through the textbook. What is that? I was flipping my textbook. But I don't come to this place to waste my time, I'm gonna learn it all, and lucky me, still surviving.

No matter how busy you are, there's always time for movies, dramas and games! You people will surely even raise your leg to agree with me. 64 episodes of anime. 2 days, poof! I'm just too lucky that I don't watch hongkong drama, if not, I'm gonna be so so so busy. To worsen things, there's sharing everywhere, 2-3min for every movie, just with a click on 'Download'. Its good or what?

When you are already so so so busy, there are still so many activities waiting for you. Hate it when its compulsory. Now, I finally realised why all the talks held in Uni are always fully seated, just because they make it compulsory to the 1st year students. I'm so gonna laugh at my junior, soon. But there's always some fun in it, sometimes. Go camping where you just need to play, eat and sleep. Just my style. I think that's all the fun thing.
There's this one time where I voluntary joined the Pesta Tanglung committee in my Uni. It really did drained all my energy, not to include celebrating success of the event at Teluk Cempedak, from night till dawn.

I guess that's Uni, everything is in order but you can never predict it. The office forgot to register my whole class for final...you can never predict it.

Holiday is coming, gonna miss KL and everything.

If life gives you lemon, just make the best lemonade of it.

Uni Life

Studying in uni is simple. Just got hook up with a new bunch of friends in orientation, thrill up with the freedom you have in uni (too much freedom compare to form 6) and upset when you were alone in the room with four walls and feel nostalgic thinking of friends and family.

Life goes on. We can weep like a child to go back to school life; we can sit down there and listen to lectures with hundreds together with you. Its just not form 6 anymore. Where Pn Chan ask for your work, Mrs Ramani scould us about our english and Pn Jamilah eat and have fun with us in class. The affection is just not there.

I was like a person holding lots of stuff in my hand walking down a long strech of road, things just start fall down one by one onto the road but I've to continue. As I reach my destination, nothing much left in my hand.

I weep like a child for past.

ALL THE BEST
&
GOOD LUCK

Moving On

I admit i am feeling rather lost as my clothes and essentials get packed into bags as i get ready to face another challenging phase in life. I remember wishing that the six month holiday we were granted would make way for university life all those days i was rotting away at home. The time has come, my friends, where we part ways and embrace the joy of pursuing a degree!

I know some of you have already started classes in MMU and UTAR, I sincerely hope that all is going well over there and you have made many close friends. Many will be starting orientation this coming week and i'm sure many are anxiously hoping and praying that they'll be assigned wonderful roommates, because unhygienic roommates are a sore, and so are rude and inconsiderate ones.

Two weeks ago, my college group in church threw a farewell for me and another friend leaving for Sydney. I thought i would share with you the advice given by those who have been studying in university for sometime already, whether it be locally or abroad.

* pauses for a moment to wonder whether anybody even reads this blog anymore. Oh well, since i started typing, i might as well go on.

Studying is not everything! Like obviously right :) Get involved in activities. I guess in the end how you view your uni life after you graduate is partly dependant on how you socialize and get to know people. You can chooose to be a hermit and stay cooped up in your room, but oh how pathetic that would be. I shudder at the very thought of it. Then again, if you occupy a 4 bedded room, I doubt a hermits life would be anywhere near achievable.

Get involved in CF/Church! A few friends shared how it's so easy to skip church just because there's no transport available/no one there really knows if you skip church just once/uni life sometimes means late saturday nights etc. Scary but sadly it's true.

I can't really remember everything said. My apologies, i admit my brain has been rather inactive these days.

To tell the truth, i'm not very sure where everyone is headed to. I wish there were an updated list somewhere. Secretary? Haha

University life, bring it on!

Chinese New Year Outing

Hey there U6K!!
As suggested we are to have a CNY OUTING this month.. and ah.. CNY is drawing nearer by the days!!

so .... we gotta discuss on
1. the date.. preferably? WEEKDAYS/WEEKENDS -
(everyone okay with the fourth day of chinese new year?)

2. whoever house is open, please voice out too! so that it's easier to make arrangement
-let's make it this way, please book the period of time where your house is open
probably we will start at 10am ..
- a visit will last about more or less 1 hour
- so, say Candidate A's house is free at 10am so he'll book 10am
- Candidate B's house is free around noon so he'll book around 12pm
- and etc

3. suggestion from joyce.........?
-LOU SANG at the last Candidate's house??? WOO-HOO!!
-any suggestions???

please spread the word to all kensettian to comment on this post

Your reply to this post should answer to the 3 pointers above!!

Now let's get the discussion rolling ............... weeeeeeeeeeeee

love,
-joyce-

A note from your monitor [ ex-monitor i mean ]

Hello ex-U6Kensettians, it’s your monitor.. oh I mean.. ex-monitor speaking. Firstly, let me make it clear that this is my first post here, which is quite a feat for me because I don’t blog [ I closed down my blog a few years back cos it was too taxing, aha ].Anyway, I’ve been thinking about posting something here for quite sometime, so here it is ! tada!

I still remember walking into MBS in my long sleeved shirt and seeing so many boys clad in dark olive long pants. Orientation week passed by in a blur as there were too many new faces to register and too many new names to remember. Before orientation week was up we were separated into classes and there I met the people I was to begin the tedious journey of Form six with.

I remember thinking ‘ Oh my, there are so many guys ‘ – because at that time there were only 4 girls and the rest were guys. However as time passed by the girls increased in number and there we have the U6K of 2008/09. I have really enjoyed my time in MBS and with you all. And even though there were many ups and downs, I can’t really imagine doing my pre-u anywhere else.

Ups were when we first bonded while selling our mango-sago-ice drink, when we did those frog jumps that made us walk so slowly that we held up stairway traffic, when we had KFC courtesy of our then form teacher – Mr Lee, when we had our steamboat party, when we went on the sadly-all-we-caught-were-a-few-moths camerons class trip, when we made so much noise that I guess we succeeded in annoying all those dating couples up in Look-out point, and I guess the list goes on and on..

Downs – I guess that must be when the principal came in and asked us about our less than perfect results, the teachers that labeled us the ‘worst’ form six Kensettian class yet.. and well the rest must have slipped my mind... or perhaps they are not worth remembering :)

Thank you all for patiently putting up with all the Card Writing every time someone’s birthday was round the corner. I hope the cards you all received put a smile on your face and showed you how much we care. P.S – guys! Cards mean a lot to girls. :p
And by the way, no.. those cards weren’t meant to surprise you all. I was pleasantly surprised when Mrs Ramani took the pains to really thank us for the card we gave her during our class party.. as words mean a lot to many people.

Thank you all for being so coorperative when we had our first serious class meeting – when we had to sit down on the floor and get thinking as to how to improve our learning attitude and to tackle the problems we faced. It was a ‘wow, this class is really something’ moment for me. When it came to carrying out what you people were assigned to in the duty roster, well.. lets not go there shall we. Haha

To my MUET group candidate A,B and D, you guys really rock! I enjoyed those times we went off topic [ which was nearly all the time ] and had lots of laughs. It really took some of the stress away. And remember how we ended up in Subways after our MUET speaking test and were kinda shoo-ed away from Pavillion perhaps because we were in school attire….

To my class committee, thanks for helping me in carrying out my duties.

To the random people – usually Kin Yang and Caleb I think…who sometimes helped me say ‘class stand’ when I was MIA, xie xie!

To my tablemates, you gals are one bunch of noisy, happening people! Remember how Pn. Jamilah would always ask us to keep quiet?

Who said Form Six was hard?

We drew flowers..

Used colour pencils like we used to in kindergarten..

Its not that hard after all, not when you have an awesome bunch of friends to see you through!

All the best in what you people are doing now, and CNY is coming so fret not as we shall see each other soon!

With love,
deb
