· 1st Round Audition (Individual)

Time: 2.30-4.30pm
Venue: School Hall

Date: 9th April 2009
Time: 2.30-4.30pm
Venue: School Hall
Twelve competitors will be admitted to the semi final recital from each category. The list of the contestant being qualified for 2nd round audition will be pasted on the notice board in front of the school office.
· 2nd Round Audition (Individual & Group)
Date: 14th April 2009
Time: 2.30-4.30pm
Venue: School Hall
Six competitors will be admitted to the final from each category. The list of finalists will be pasted on the notice board in front of the school office.
· Final (Individual & Group)
Date: 21st April 2009
Time: 2.45-4.30pm
Venue: School Hall
Three competitors with the highest scores in individual category will get the places of first, second and third accordingly.
Competitor with the highest scores in group category will get the first place.
Marking Scheme
Choice of music/repertoire
2 marks
Instrumentation – types of musical instruments used in the
presentation
3marks
Analysis of the music with reference to structural and expressive
elements.
Features:
15marks
• Rhythmic features – e.g., metre, characteristic figures, syncopation;
• Melodic features – e.g., tonality, pitch movement, sequences;
• Harmonic features – i.e., chord types, cadences, dissonance;
• Formal structure – i.e., phrase pattern, binary, ternary, strophic, etc.;
• Timbral features – i.e., instruments and/or voices;
• Expressive features – e.g., tempo, dynamics, articulation;
• Genre/Style – i.e., folk, popular, Jazz, Art, Reggae, Gospel, Soca, etc.
Total
20marks
· Results of the 1st and 2nd audition are based on the decision of the panel of judges.
· 70% of the final result will be decided by judges and the other 30% by voting.
· Judges will comment on the competitors’ performances.
Rules & Regulations
· The Competition is open to all MBSSKL students.
· RM5 will be charged for the entry of individual category. RM15 will be charged for the entry of group category.
· Repertoire is not necessary to be played in memory.
· In individual group, competitors are given a choice of ‘play along’.
· Competitors who are not ready to perform when called upon to do so may be disqualified.
· The decision made by the Jury is final.
· Competitors cannot appeal against the decisions of the Jury.
· Any competitor who makes an attempt, or on whose behalf an attempt is made, to communicate with any member of the Jury may be disqualified.
· Competitors will be required to submit their repertoire together with the application form. The repertoire may not be altered after being handed up. The timings of all works to be played must be stated accurately and whether repeats will be made.
· Voting ticket will be sold at the price of RM0.50. Amount of vote by each student is not being limited.
· Only piano and drum set are provided, participants are required to bring their own instrument(s) if they are going to perform using other instrument(s).
· PARTICIPANTS WOULD NEED TO PAY THE COMPENSATION OF THE PARTICULAR INSTRUMENT(S) OF THE CLUB IF THEY ARE BEING SPOILED.

Sports Day 09
AHHH Sports Day is finally over. no more staying back for sports house practices, no more heat strokes, no more over perspiration.
so, we'll be back to being nerds.

we are not bookworms, chanting physics formulas and we don't solve maths questions as a past time (wait... there is someone who does that). my point is, we can kick some ass too.
although i must add, ours are like taekwondo yellow belt kicks only lah.

A Logical explanation for a failed exam.
There are 365 days in a year
We sleep around 8 hours a day, so that’s 121 days off, resulting in a 244 days
Sundays; that’s around another 48 days off, which is 196 days.
Suppose we have around one hour of family/friends time. That’s around 15 days, so that’s 181 days left.
There is an approximate 50days for vacation. That’s 131 days left.
Suppose you have an hour of free/eating time per day, that’s another 15 days off. So it’s 116 days left to study for around 40 exams.
That reminds me, there are 40 days of exams, so that 40 days off, so now it’s 76 days.
School is around 7 hours a day (230 days a year), so that’s around 70 days off. Now we are at 6 days.
You are at least sick for three days, so that a 3.
Suppose you go out (date/movie/tournaments etc, etc…) for two days. Now you’re left with one.
That one day is your birthday.
So… How can we pass?

huhu the performance by the Berlin Phil was aweeeeesome!! *does the rock-on hand thingy whilst sticking out tongue*. too bad we could only see the strings section and the conductor cause all of our seats were pretty in front.
concert master was an asian dude! has an air of aloofness thou. and some told me he dozed off when the violin dude played his encore piece @_@
it was my first time and i'm glad i went thru this with YOU BUNCH OF CRAZY LOVABLE PEOPLE.

Most of us were don't know they were working so hard behind there.. We were just taking picture non stop while waiting both of them..
Suddenly,
when KaiJie helped us to take picture..
once he clicked the button..we heard the whisel sound..
we were all shocked!!
we thought we were not allowed to take picture at there!! Swttt...
Finally, Sharon and Mun.. beh tahan alrd..because of being sucked by MOTOBIKE behind the bush while waiting us to finish taking picture....
the worst is that Sharon told the real story
that THE GUARD was actually WHISELLED at SHARON..
